Plural Sites?

The high-fiving update Phoenix is here once again. I'm sure you've met each other by now.

Has it really been that long since I've posted? College is digging a grave for my free time it would seem. Never fear! I literally don't know how to quit you. I've got a billion articles planned that will drive me crazy unless I post them so there will definitely be content. So let's take a look at what's in store:

The site itself!
1) We're moving! Kinda...
The site has a new domain.
The URL is officially: allgeeksrejoice.com
Go ahead and update your bookmarks and such. Tell your friends.

2) I disabled the captcha thingie for typing in comments. THIS IS A BIG DEAL! You no longer have to prove you are a human to comment. You could be a cyborg dinosaur and it's all kewl now.

3) Suggestion box = my email or comments
As always, I'm open to suggestions. This also sparks a question: Would you prefer I make a contact page or are you okay with my contact info being shoved way at the bottom of a sidebar?

The podcast!
The moment I can gather two very particular people in the same room, the first podcast shall be born. I realize in hindsight how freaky that actually sounds but I refuse to delete the sentence now. Any suggestions on what you want to hear us discuss?

Follow me on Twitter!
Click this link to find out why if you missed the initial post.
Here's the Twitter: http://twitter.com/#!/AllGeeksRejoice

I'm making yet another site!
It's a seeeeecret. Be prepared for that.

Decklist Ex Machina #6 Bread Makes you Fat?

Coming up with fun decklists so you don't have to.

This deck I'm about to unveil has a lot of things going for it. It's cheap, easy to get a hold of, fun to play with, noob friendly, it eats garlic bread, and it works whether you want to run it in one-on-one or in group play. I'm not talking about a hooker but the similarities are staggering. This deck belongs to none other than Wafflesaurus/Raii. Raii prefers the tactic of beating face until it cracks open and this deck does that rather nicely. The two of us tweaked this to where it is now and it still needs more playtesting but it's come a long way in just a week. This started as the Worldwake Brute Force precon and evolved into what you see below.

Lands 24
Kazandu Refuge 4
Mountain 9
Forest 11

Creatures 27
Kird Ape 4
Sylvan Ranger 4
Farhaven Elf 3
Joraga Treespeaker 4
Joraga Warcaller 3
Wolfbriar Elemental 3
Terastodon 3
Apocalypse Hydra 3

Other Spells 9
Lightning Bolt 4
Harmonize 3
Comet Storm 2

Sideboard 15
Back to Nature 4
Ancient Grudge 4
Autumn's Veil 3
Plummet 4

Total Cost: $15-20

Strengths: You'll be turning your enemies into dust. They can tell it to the cleaning lady on Monday... because she has the weekends off... and she cleans dust.
___________
This deck manages to constantly lay down threats whether it's turn one or turn forty (hypothetically speaking if a game were to actually last that long though it really shouldn't). The longer the match, the more powerful the creatures become. This is actually the reason this deck can roll with the punches so well in multiplayer.

The addition of burn and creatures capable of pinging (Mr. Hydra) allow this deck to either frag creatures to clear the way for swinging into face or simply go overhead and take out the opponent twice as fast.

It's able to drop a Terastodon on turn five rather consistently. Not only does it take out Planeswalkers and other threats on the field but it can also replace some of your lands with 3/3 tokens if you just happen to need an army.

This deck doesn't rely on an elf tribal theme but instead uses elves as a sub-theme. If your elves get destroyed then it's no big deal but if they survive then they bring another route to victory. A fully leveled Joraga Treespeaker turns Sylvan and Farhaven into mana boosters and a multi-kicked Joraga Warcaller turns all would-be chump blockers into deadly threats.

Weaknesses: Vegans, because vegans are just better than other people.
___________
In testing, this deck can actually hold its own against most decktypes. The faster aggro and combo decks seem to be the problem children since the deck takes a few turns to establish itself and merely throws out chump blockers before it can setup for something heavy.

Possible includes: Pirates... they're "in" this year.
__________________
Creatures that laugh at creature destruction such as: Chameleon Colossus, Gaea's Revenge, etc.

Dual Lands to smooth out mana such as: Rootbound Crag, Fire-Lit Thicket, Raging Ravine, or Stomping Ground.

Replacing Kird Ape with other powerful cards that benefit the deck such as: Plated Geopede, Scute Mob, Wren's Run Vanquisher, Radha, Heir to Keld, Figure of Destiny, etc.

Momentous Fall might be able to replace Harmonize but leaving mana open for it could prove difficult.

EDIT - May 22, 2011 - UPDATED LIST:

24 Creatures
Viridian Emissary 4
Joraga Treespeaker 4
Oracle of Mul Daya 4
Apocalypse Hydra 3
Terastodon 3
Wolfbriar Elemental 3
Rampaging Baloths 3
Kozilek, Butcher of Truth 1

11 Non-creature Spells
______________
Cultivate 3
Lightning Bolt 4
Garruk Wildspeaker 2
Comet Storm 2

24 Lands
_______
Skarrg, the Rage Pits 2
Rootbound Crag 4
Forest 10
Mountain 8

Wicked Anime Reviews #6 Moribito: Guardian of the Spirit

Anime reviews delivered directly to the face!

Premise:
A wandering female bodyguard attempts to atone for the eight deaths she feels are her own fault by saving eight lives. Due to certain circumstances, the eighth life she must protect will be the most difficult. She's charged with guarding a young prince who is being targeted by the royal family due to a water demon that resides within his own body. If he isn't killed, a permanent drought will fall upon the world.

This is an Anime that can truly stand for itself amongst the crowd and deliver quality in every category. The full spectrum of animation, visual style, dialogue, story, and beyond is truly top notch and there's a very obvious reason why so much effort was put into this. Below are some of the major points that stood out to me personally.

1) Decisive thought - Something that shines throughout the entire series is that every character makes well crafted decisions. These characters use their intelligence and act more human than in most other Anime. Plans are calculated and choices are weighed before taking action.

2) Proper portrayal of women - The main protagonist, Balsa, manages to be a truly inspiring character. She's strong willed, mature, intelligent, and heavily skilled with a spear. It's so refreshing to see a real woman that isn't a princess in need of rescuing. It also helps that there is never a moment where Balsa is degraded to being used as fanservice.

3) Morality - There literally isn't an evil character to speak of. The best example is probably the King himself. He loves his son but he feels obligated to the people to carry out his duty as King and save them. It's a delightful change of pace to see both sides of the conflict attempting to do what's right.

4) Action - While the fight scenes themselves are few and far between, they are utterly spectacular.

I apologize for not reviewing this in my typical fashion but there's always next time.

Twitter Time?

It's not quite the update Phoenix but it's sort of similar. Think of it as his little bro. You might dismiss Twitter as something silly and I honestly did the same thing at first. I've found some actual uses for it recently and I'm willing to test it out. Care to test it out along with me?

Reasons to follow me on Twitter:
1) It's the hip thing to do.
2) We can get to know each other.
3) You get updates about the site and other interesting things going on.
4) I'll be asking questions that may shape the site and future developments and I need your help answering them.
5) It tastes like chicken.
6) It's free.
7) It's like getting free chicken.
8) It's super easy to get an account and the process only takes a minute.

So why not? Let's test the waters together and create a friendly community composed of geeks and win sauce.

Leak Sauce #7 Mega Man Legends 3 Project

Leaking info to you and bringing the discussion.

There's something that Mega Man Volnutt and I share. We've both been gone for awhile. I've been away for over two weeks and Mega has been out for over a decade. I can't even imagine what Keiji Inafune had to do to make sure this game got the green light. I imagine it involved lots of blood and sacrifices. I'm talking about goats.

So here's what's up: It's official. The trilogy can finally come to a close and I can give Inafune copious amounts of bear hugs if I get his permission. The reason it's called a "Project" is that Inafune is doing something very interesting this time around: letting the fans submit ideas and vote on several aspects of the game. This is probably the largest involvement of a fan community in any single production of a video game to this day.

The game itself will eventually come out for the 3DS but the project is starting with baby steps for now. Inafune knows that the last game wasn't exactly a financial success. He's hoping that as a community, we can pitch in and make the greatest game possible and change the outcome this time. Let's prove Inafune right, save Christmas, and prevent World War 3 all in one go!

I've given the summary version. You can watch the full video panel over here:
