Video Spotlight #49 Ni No Kuni: Wrath of the White Witch

Sharing videos I managed to find scattered across the internet.

Studio Ghibli meets Level-5 Studios to have a baby and create this? I never imagined something like this even existing but I'm glad it's happening. For those confused about what I'm talking about: Studio Ghibli is known for creating beautiful pieces of animation such as My Neighbor Totoro, Spirited Away, Princess Mononoke, and more. Level-5 is known for creating Dark Cloud, Professor Layton, Dragon Quest VIII, and others. Level-5 is also famous for creating well-made localizations so this should get the treatment it deserves for us to enjoy it in the states.

This is Kylak signing out and hoping more projects like this exist in the future.

Video Spotlight #48 OK Go - Needing/Getting

Sharing videos I managed to find scattered across the internet.

You may have heard of or seen OK Go years ago when they released a music video involving them dancing on treadmills. If you kept up with them, then you would discover that pretty much every one of their music videos manages to involve an incredible amount of planning, proper timing, and sometimes the use of elaborate tricks to pull off visual treats. If you've denied yourself of their awesomeness then I bring you this video above where they make music by driving a car through an elaborate setup of instruments and random junk.

This is Kylak signing out and recommending you check out the rest.

Video Spotlight #47 In Defense of Nostalgia

Sharing videos I managed to find scattered across the internet.

For those who haven't encountered Movie Bob before, he's beyond deserving of your attention and respect. Not only does he have two web series and a feature article on The Escapist but he has his own website with even more content. He's possibly more commonly known for his movie reviews since he happens to be a film critic but he also has a lovely mix of edutainment and discussion of geek culture and topics. This particular episode is all about nostalgia and I'll leave it to Bob to explain the rest.

This is Kylak signing out and leaving it to Movie Bob to tell the big picture.

If the message isn't clear enough then here's a bonus video designed to be blunt as hell: Read a Book

This is Kylak signing out and using knowledge to make the world not suck.

Video Spotlight #45 Go Right

Sharing videos I managed to find scattered across the internet.

It's... it's so beautiful. Those aren't tears! I've just got something in my eye... You don't need me to explain this or type anything elaborate. Just enjoy.

This is Kylak signing out but I can't stop watching it.

Absences and Spotlights

So things have been rather busy on my end and time slipped away before I could get any posts up for last week. There are two projects that I'm working on currently that might turn into something major that could help the site or they'll just become minor blips that fade into non-existence. I won't know until I try right?

Between the projects and an actual request for more Video Spotlights, the first half of May will mostly consist of more of those which will give everyone something to enjoy while I work on catching up. The first video will be posted late tonight (or I guess early morning depending on your perspective).

I'd also like to mention that the comment section fix seems to be a success so I'm going to leave it the way it is now. Unless something crazy happens, there will no longer be a need to have a Google account just to comment.

If anyone has an article request (for any current article series such as, but not limited to, the D&D and MTG advice columns) then now is the best time to ask.
